Student Government Association
The Student Government Association (SGA) office is located on the first floor of the Slep Student Center. Executive board members hold regular office hours and are available to meet with students and student organization representatives to address concerns and answer questions.
The SGA is the governing student body at Penn State Altoona. It is their duty to represent the voices of the entire student body to the University administration. The senate meets weekly on Tuesdays during common hour in 150 Hawthorn. These meetings are open to all students. Responsibilities of the SGA include approving or denying the recognition of student organizations, allocating monies requested from the SGA fund, and working as the liaison between the students and University administration to continually advance the Altoona campus. In addition, SGA participates in many activities and events- they are always looking to collaborate with clubs and organizations!
All students are encouraged to participate in elections of senators that occur every year in September. Membership is open to any full–time student who meets the requirements and presents a petition containing the appropriate number of signatures. Complete information on election procedures is available in the SGA Office.
